Commodities trading, algorithmic systems and structured education — signals, copy trading and courses for traders building a process of their own.
About
HCO Trading Group is a commodities trading group built around one idea: that market experience and quantitative systems are worth far more together than either is alone.
We trade, we research, and we teach — signals, copy trading and structured courses, all built so that members end up depending on them less.
Experience
Algorithms
Research
Education
Experience and systems, not one or the other
A discretionary trader without a system repeats their own biases. A system without a trader behind it breaks the first time the market does something it has not seen. HCO was built on the conviction that the two belong together — real screen time setting the questions, quantitative research answering them.
Risk is the first decision, not the last
Position size, exposure limits and the point at which an idea is wrong are settled before anything is opened. Most of what separates traders who last from traders who do not is not entry quality — it is what they had already decided to do when the trade went against them.
Education before dependency
A signal you cannot explain is a signal you cannot size, hold, or exit with any conviction. Everything we publish is written to be understood, so that over time members rely less on being told what to do and more on their own process.
Method
Market Intelligence
Continuous monitoring of commodity markets and the macro calendar that moves them — inventory data, supply disruption, central bank policy, seasonal demand. Context first; the chart is the last thing we look at, not the first.
Quantitative Research
Ideas are specified, tested against historical data and stressed across different volatility regimes before they are allowed near live risk. Anything that only works in one kind of market has not been tested, only described.
Algorithmic Systems
Rules-based execution removes the part of trading most vulnerable to fatigue and emotion. Systems handle screening, timing and consistency; people handle judgement about whether the environment suits the strategy at all.
Artificial Intelligence
Machine learning is used where it earns its place — pattern recognition across large datasets, classifying market regimes, surfacing relationships a human would not have time to look for. It informs decisions. It does not make them unsupervised.
Risk Management
Exposure limits, correlation checks and predefined invalidation on every idea. The objective is survival across conditions, because consistency compounds and a single oversized position can undo a year of it.
Review
Trades are reviewed whether they worked or not. A profitable trade taken for the wrong reason is a problem; a losing trade taken correctly is not. Members see that reasoning, which is where most of the learning actually happens.
Membership
Six things, built to work together: the research produces the signals, the signals are explained in the education, and the courses turn the explanation into a process you can run yourself.
Every idea arrives with its reasoning, its risk parameters and the conditions that would make it wrong. You are told what we are looking at and why, not simply handed an instruction. No signal service can be right every time and we do not present ours as one — the value is in the process being visible.
- Entry, invalidation and risk parameters stated up front
- The market context behind the idea, not just the level
- Written to be understood and questioned
Subject to eligibility, platform availability and the risk controls attached to each strategy. Copy trading carries the same market risk as trading directly — losses are possible and past results do not indicate future outcomes. It is a way to participate while you learn, not a way to stop learning.
- Selected strategies, each with defined risk controls
- Eligibility and platform requirements apply
- Not passive income and not risk-free
Built the way we would teach someone joining a desk: fundamentals, then commodities specifics, then technical and quantitative analysis, then risk, execution and psychology — finishing with a written process you can actually follow under pressure.
- Fundamentals, commodities, technical and quantitative analysis
- Risk management, execution and trading psychology
- Algorithmic concepts explained without requiring a maths degree
Trade reviews, market notes and explanations of the macro events driving price. The point is not to tell you what happened but to show you how it was read, so the same reasoning becomes available to you next time.
- Trade reviews, wins and losses alike
- Macro and inventory context in plain language
- Designed to reduce reliance on signals over time
Trading alone is where bad habits form unchallenged. Members have somewhere to test their reasoning against people further along, and direct access to the traders producing the analysis rather than a support queue.
- Direct access to the desk
- Idea review and constructive challenge
- Peers at every stage, not only beginners
Data pipelines, backtesting, regime classification and machine-learning research. Members do not need to operate any of it — but understanding that the ideas come from a tested process rather than a hunch is the reason to take them seriously.
- Systematic backtesting across volatility regimes
- AI-assisted pattern and regime analysis
- Execution tooling built in-house
Trading carries a significant risk of loss. Signals, strategies and educational material are provided for information and education and are not personal financial advice. No outcome is guaranteed.
Commodities
Commodities and indices are the centre of what we trade and what we teach. Commodities are driven by things that leave evidence — supply, demand, storage, weather, policy — which makes them researchable in a way sentiment-led markets are not.
Gold
Rates, real yields and the dollar. The cleanest expression of a macro view, and where most members start.
Silver
Precious and industrial at once, which makes it more volatile than gold and less forgiving of loose sizing.
Crude Oil
Inventory cycles, OPEC policy and supply disruption. Fast, headline-driven, and rich in structure.
Natural Gas
Weather, storage and seasonality. Among the most volatile markets available — approached with correspondingly tight risk.
Agricultural
Planting and harvest cycles, weather and export policy. Slower to develop, with clearer seasonal patterns.
Indices
Stock indices — the desk's other core market, traded alongside commodities.
Macro Events
Central bank policy, inflation prints and geopolitics — the calendar that repeatedly moves every market above.
Physical markets have reasons
Commodities are driven by supply, demand, storage and weather — forces that leave a trail. There is a genuine fundamental picture to research, rather than sentiment alone.
Volatility with structure
Seasonality, inventory cycles and recurring macro events give commodity markets more repeatable structure than most. Structure is what a systematic process needs.
It is where our experience is
We teach and trade the markets we know properly. Depth in a defined set of markets is worth considerably more than shallow coverage of everything.
Leadership

Callum
Eight years trading professionally, including work with a number of large trading firms. Callum leads trading strategy and commodities analysis, and runs member training personally — the courses, the mentorship and the trade reviews are his.

Kyle
Kyle's background is in artificial intelligence and quantitative trading. He builds the algorithmic systems, research pipelines and data infrastructure behind HCO — the machinery that turns a market observation into something tested, sized and repeatable.
Callum and Kyle came at trading from opposite directions. Callum spent eight years on live markets, learning what actually holds up when a position is open and the news is against you. Kyle came from artificial intelligence and quantitative research, building systems that test whether an idea survives contact with decades of data.
Both had seen the failure mode of working alone. Discretionary traders repeat their own blind spots because nothing measures them. Quantitative systems produce elegant results that fall apart the moment the market behaves in a way the data never contained. Each was solving a problem the other already had the answer to.
HCO Trading Group is that combination made deliberate: real commodities experience setting the questions, artificial intelligence and quantitative research answering them, and algorithmic systems executing the result consistently.
The purpose is not to build an audience that depends on us. It is to give members genuine market knowledge, tested tools, clearly reasoned signals, copy-trading access where it suits them, and structured courses — so that over time they need the signals less and their own process more.
The Pathway
Five stages, and the last one is the point: members who no longer need to be told what to do. Everything before it is built to get you there.
Apply
Tell us your experience level and what you want from the markets. Membership is not right for everyone and we would rather establish that at the start.
Foundations
Structured courses covering market fundamentals, commodities, technical and quantitative analysis, and risk — regardless of where you are starting from.
Follow and learn
Signals and market notes with their full reasoning attached. Where copy trading suits you and you are eligible, follow selected strategies while you build understanding.
Build your process
Work with the desk to document a repeatable process of your own: what you trade, how you size it, and what makes you wrong.
Trade your own book
The intended destination. You still have the community, the research and the mentorship — but the decisions, and the conviction behind them, are yours.
New to trading
You want to learn properly from the start rather than assemble a method from free videos and forum threads.
Trading already, inconsistent
You understand the mechanics but lack a repeatable process, and your results reflect that.
Experienced, want structure
You trade competently and want quantitative research, algorithmic tooling and a desk to test your reasoning against.
Looking for guaranteed returns
Not us. Trading involves real risk of loss, nobody can guarantee an outcome, and anyone telling you otherwise is worth walking away from.
Do you guarantee profits?
No. Nobody credible does. Trading carries a genuine risk of loss and any strategy will have losing periods. What we provide is process, research, education and reasoning — not a promised outcome.
What does membership cost?
Membership is free. You apply through this site, and a person reviews every application.
Do I need experience to join?
No. The course pathway starts at fundamentals. Experienced traders can move through it faster and spend their time on the research and algorithmic material instead.
What markets do you focus on?
Commodities and indices. On the commodities side that means gold, silver, crude, natural gas and agricultural markets, together with the macroeconomic events that move them. We trade forex too, but less often. We would rather be genuinely deep in a defined set of markets than shallow across all of them.
How does copy trading work?
Eligible members can mirror selected strategies subject to risk controls, platform availability and the relevant disclosures. It carries the same market risk as trading directly. It is a way to participate while you learn — not a substitute for learning.
Will I always need your signals?
The intention is that you will not. Everything is written so the reasoning transfers. Members who stay longest tend to use the community and the research more, and the signals less.
Is HCO Trading Group regulated?
TODO — to be completed with your regulatory position before launch. Do not publish this page without professional review of this answer.
